I’m saddened that anyone would think Thoreau or any dense topic is not appropriate for a teenager. Crazy.

One reason I felt especially drawn to your essay was that it reminded me of my own experience when I was your age — I had begun to read Thoreau, and he sparked and influenced my thinking (and my writing) in all kinds of ways. So I felt a kinship with you.

Good luck in your studies! And keep reading the juicy dense stuff. :)

My parents got a load of negative energy from adults thinking I was out of mind writing about the “dense” topic of transcendentalism and how philosophy wasnt an appropriate topic for a teenager to grapple with.

I am so unspeakably honored to have someone recognized the timeless effect great thinkers have on people only if you allow yourself the time to be inspired and moved. Doesnt matter the age!
